In today's New Mexican, Staci Matlock did a follow-up story to her previous piece that highlighted the bullying and tragic death of NMPRC employee Annette Prada.

See the story here.

  1. Dear DOH Nation,
I saddens me to hear so many are still struggling and my heart goes out to Annette’s family. Please know there is no glamorizing what is happening to any of us. I cannot even begin to explain the sudden upheaval of my life and all the struggles I have endured over these months. During this holiday, take your time to enjoy your family and loved ones without allowing these soulless people to invade what really matters in your life. Before making any decisions, consult with your spouses and your loved ones. Be sure to reflect and consider the consequences of all actions. Follow your heart and do what is right for you. There is no room in life to be unhappy. If the pressures are causing you illness and stress, you need to leave. But if the pressures are causing you unhappiness because you cannot stand to see injustice, take a stand. No one will judge you. Be safe and be happy.

    1. Thank you. Your post shows a strength of character & solidarity with the rest of us targeted for ruin by former Sec. Torres & the Martinez/Gardner admin. Honest to goodness public servants have been run out by small minded & wrong headed tyrants. Hundreds are struggling because of this politic. Peace to you and like minded friends. Fight on DOH Nation.

  2. Call the Attorney General's Office Government Accountability Division. In Albuquerque -505-222-9000 or Santa Fe 505-827-6000.
If Governor Martinez doesn't acre about how state employees are being treated by those under her command, maybe our future governor will.

    1. My comment was deleted because I used a moniker instead of my real name. The editor should realize that the bullying is so pervasive, employees - whose 1st amendment rights have been stripped- would be too afraid to use their actual names. Yet, they have much to say!

  4. Who is Gayle Nash?

    1. She is the new DON over all of the facilities.

    2. She should try introducing herself as that before giving an ass chewing.

    3. Do I see Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell on Ms. Nash's resume? Don't suppose that is coincidence, do you? Any other people associated with Roswell/Brad getting high positions in DOH?

    4. I can only conclude that the Governor is as dirty as the Roswell folks she has around her.

  5. WTH what's going on at SATC today?

    1. JACHO is doing an investigation. Given that Anita Westbrook is director, it is assumed that there will be deficiencies. She dirties anything she is in charge of. Look at her record at TLH and LL.

  6. Reading this story, I thought of so many other people whose stories could/should have been included. If anyone doubts the bullying, the lack of response speaks volumes!

  7. In light of yesterday's national tragedy, the State of New Mexico should be proud that it has a facility like Sequoyah. The Governor, however, should be ashamed that it has entrusted this important place to an incompetent administrator and unethical psychiatrist.

  8. SATC treats mentally ill young males like yesterday's
shooters. It is not an easy job. The staff that are with them 24/7 deserve support and admiration, which they currently are not getting. Sorry to exploit the tragedy, but it is nonetheless true.

  9. I challenge you Brad McGrath to come spend a day on a lodge at SATC. Maybe then you will respect the staff and not go along with Anita Westbrook's constant denigration of them and the job they do. Come on Brad, I dare you!

  10. I am ashamed to work for the State of New Mexico and have decided to resign.

  11. Dear DOH Nation, Wishing you all a Merry Christmas (or should I correctly say “Happy Holidays”). Hoping today you are enjoying your family, friends & loved ones (& lots of good food). For those of us unable to afford a “traditional holiday” because of our terminations, holidays are not about “gifts”, they’re about love & fellowship; that is one thing they cannot take away. Tonight, take a moment to lie beneath the tree lights or gaze up at the wintery stars and reflect on what’s important in your life. This time of year brings about a rebirth of HOPE & a renewed sense of PURPOSE. In the days & weeks to come bring this renewed sense of LOVE & STRENGTH with you to EMPOWER your daily life. May the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Future pay visits to these Ebenezer Scrooges showing them the error of their ways. Many prayers to the Prada family & the families in CT during this holiday season. Blessings to all DOH Nation. You all have BIG hearts & give so much of yourselves, I’m sure you were all on Santa’s “nice-list” (we all know who was on his “naughty-list”). Miss you terribly…Love to all….

  12. So proud of those employees who fight back. When Gov. Martinez runs for re-election, I will make sure the public knows about all the corruption in her state agencies.

  13. It seems as though people have already forgotten about all of us who have been dismissed or have you given up the will to fight the bullying throughout the ENTIRE DOH system. Have things now gotten better? I haven't heard any concerns for Annette's family or question on how they're holding up through this hard time. I haven't forgotten. I'm still living it. DOH has taken away my career, my reputation, relationships, theyr abuse hasn't stopped; it's only gotten worse and apparently DOH Nation has all but forgotten those of us sacrificed in this battle. But we're still out here and we're fighting. We still need your support and we still need you to speak out...all of you from all areas not just one program. I beg of you DOH Nation...speak out

    1. Don't despair! Many people are talking to the right people. Unfortunately, progress is slow, but this administration (DOH, if not the governor) will go down.
